Onion Rings

A crispy take on onion rings!

  • 1 Large White Onion
  • ½ Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Cups Crisco


  1. In a large Iron Skillet melt the Crisco.  In a medium bowl bet the egg and add the salt and pepper.  Peel the Large White Onion and cut into thin ring slices.
  2. In a small bowl add the flour and season with salt and pepper.  Flour the onion rings and the dip in egg mixture again add to flour and set on tray.  Repeat until the onions are all battered.  Then take a drip of water and add to the Crisco if it bubbles a lot then the grease is hot enough.
  3. Slowly add one onion ring at a time to the grease. Cook until they float and remove and place on paper towel.  Rest and serve.
