Mamma Grizz Salisbury Steak

This is the best Salisbury Steak and Gravy. Your Cowboys are going to love this dish served with Fluffy Mashed Potatoes it’s a perfect fit meal between a hamburger to meatloaf dinner.

  • 2 lbs. Ground Beef
  • 2 – 10.5oz Cans of Condensed French Onion Soup
  • ½ Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsps. Butter
  • 1 medium diced white Onion
  • 1 Cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup Brandy
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/3 cup water


1. To make Patties: In a Large Bowl mix ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper and 1/3cup of French Onion Soup.  Shape into six to 8 patties.  Pre – heat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large iron skillet brown patty on both sides until medium DO NOT OVERCOOK.  Place them after cooked into a 9” x 13” cooking pan.

2. For Gravy: In a medium frying pan add oil and butter.  Add the white chopped onion and sliced mushrooms and cook them down.  When onion is cooked down add the Brandy and reduce by half.  Add the Worcestershire, soy, Dijon mustard.  In a small bowl add the flour and water.  Mix together and add to the sauce along with the rest of the cans of soup – Bring to boil.   Pour the gravy over the patties.  Place the Patties in the oven for at least 20min.  Remove and serve with Fluffy Mash Potatoes.
