Cut Out Sugar Cookies

This easy sugar cookie recipe is fast and fun for the family.

  • 3 c. of flour
  • 1 c. of sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. of unsalted butter-Room Temp
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • Royal Icing Recipe below:
  • 6 c. of powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 3 Tbs. corn syrup


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until combined. Add egg and vanilla and all dry ingredients. Combine cookie dough until mixed well.
  3. Lightly flour your counter and roll out cookie dough to 1/4″. Cut out your favorite shapes. Place them on a cookie. You do not have to refrigerate this dough.
  4. Bake for 6-8 min. or until bottoms are brown. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet before transferring them to cool for about 5 min.
  5. When cookies are completely cooled, decorate them or eat them plain.

Royal Icing Recipe:

Mix together all ingredients until frosting is smooth. Add more milk for it to become liquidy. Add favorite food coloring and mix together. Decorate and enjoy.
